WalkWorks signs pepper the city streets to keep walkers on the correct route. Johnstown’s WalkWorks route encompasses 1.8 miles and includes many scenic and historic sites in the city, including the Stone Bridge, the Johnstown Flood Museum, and the Iron to Arts Corridor. It will provide a great opportunity for participants to get exercise, meet new people and share ideas. Anyone living, working, or visiting downtown Johnstown is welcome to join this informal walking group. The walking group will meet near the Cambria County Library, corner of Main and Walnut streets, and will follow a predetermined route. The Recreation Economic Committee (REC) of the Cambria Regional Chamber, in partnership with the 1889 Jefferson Center for Population Health, is bringing WalkWorks Wednesdays back to Downtown Johnstown at noon on Wednesdays, through June 21. The theme is "Explore the Beauty of Somerset County Parks and Trails." All proceeds go toward the construction and maintenance of the trail systems.
